New Labeling Requirements
A New Chapter in Labeling
Recently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) made changes to the Daily Values of vitamins and nutrients. The supplement industry has been using the same Daily Value labeling standards for over 20 years. Scientific research has discovered much more information about nutrition and how our bodies work over the past two decades. So the Daily Value metrics have been updated.
Changes in Labels, but NOT in Quality
New Chapter is committed to delivering the same quality ingredients in the same delivery systems that our customers have loved for many years. While there may be some updates to formulations to meet the new nutrient guidelines, we think you’ll be pleased with some of the upgrades coming to your favorite formulas.
Changes to Nutrition Measurement include:
- Vitamin D and E will go into microgram (mcg) and milligram (mg) measurements instead of International Units (IU)
- Daily Values for some ingredients have been updated

Revised Daily Values
While it may be obvious that pregnant women and men have different nutritional needs, the old Recommended Daily Values did not differentiate between the two. The new guidelines delineate between the needs of men, women, and pregnant women and offer clarity on how much is recommended per day.
These label changes will be gradually appearing in stores, so you may notice these changes on some of your favorite products sooner than others. All of our labels are being changed to the new guidelines, so eventually all of them will be updated.
New Chapter is here to support you, and pledges to keep giving you the quality fermented vitamins and nutrients you love with clear and accurate labeling.
